Tour de Guangxi - Paul Magnier : «Ça a été une journée très rapide...»

Ce mardi 13 octobre, Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) a lancé le Tour de Guangxi de la meilleure des manières en remportant la 1ère étape au sprint. Le Français a signé son sixième succès sur l’épreuve chinoise, après ses cinq victoires de l’an dernier, et sa 14e victoire de la saison. Il a devancé l’Allemand Max Kanter (XDS Astana Team) et l’Australien Sam Welsford (Netcompany INEOS).

"Ça a été une journée très rapide, avec une moyenne d'environ 49 km/h", a déclaré Magnier. "Ce n'était donc pas facile, notamment avec la chaleur. Ayco (Bastiens) a fait un excellent travail pour contrôler la course, puis mes coéquipiers m'ont parfaitement emmené dans le sprint. Je suis très heureux d'avoir concrétisé leur travail par une victoire et de retrouver la compétition ici."
